Tucked in a calm, secluded bay, Rough Rock Lodge is the only lodge for 15 miles, allowing our guests several miles of un-pressured waters to fish and enjoy. It is our goal at Rough Rock Lodge to ensure your trip here is the best ever.
Rough Rock Lodge is a family-owned and operated resort by John Kugler. We believe that your comfort while at Rough Rock Lodge is the most important part of our business. Being a small family run resort, we offer you the personalized service that our guests deserve during their stay with us.
Our aim at Rough Rock is to make sure you'll spend lots more time on the water fishing.
The Winnipeg River System is well known for trophy walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike and muskie as well as yellow perch and black crappie. Portage lakes located close to the lodge are also available for anglers to explore rarely fished waters.
Most fishing opportunities lie within a 5-10 minute boat ride from the lodge where you will find countless bays, weedlines, rock piles and mid-lake reefs to pursue your "Fish of a Lifetime."
Our guides are experts at shore lunch preparation. Shore lunches don't last 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Unless, of course, you request it. Our guides are efficient at preparing shore lunch, giving you ample time to enjoy it and return fishing without wasting a lot of time.
Our guides are flexible. They'll implement your daily fishing strategy or, if you choose, they'll plan your daily fishing strategy. Either way you won't end up taking long time wasting boat rides.
At the end of the day. We allow guests to take our boats out fishing for a couple of hours after dinner, something many other camps don't allow.
